HER. Oh sorry, so sorry – oh, and what about your daughter? They’re friends, your daughter’s best fucking friends with her daughter, that’s going be fun – oh shit you’ve got class. Oh my life.

HER. What? What about – money? Go? We haven’t even begun. What about this house? What about the fact that I have, as you have so often observed, a part-time job! What about telling your daughter, up there, wondering right now, wondering what we’re shouting about.

HIM. Yes, yes. I’ll go and tell her.

HER. Yes, yes you go and do that, you break her heart into pieces, you break hers and mine and what’s this about? What does she do that I don’t because I am always up for reviewing that – oh I feel dirty, why do I feel – don’t try to touch me!

Pause.

HIM. I’ll go up and – I can only say for me, I can only say – you have made me so happy.
